About Gas Law Calculator
What we built
Gas Law Calculator is a free suite of interactive gas law tools. Every calculator solves for any variable, converts between all standard units, and shows every step of the calculation. No ads, no sign-up, no paywall.
Why it exists
Most gas law calculators online are simple single-equation tools with no unit conversion and no explanation. Students lose marks because they do not convert Celsius to Kelvin, or they use the wrong value of R. This site was built to fix that: every input accepts any unit, every conversion is transparent, and every step is shown.
How accuracy is maintained
All calculations use the standard scientific values: R = 0.08205746 L·atm/(mol·K) for chemistry, R = 8.314462618 J/(mol·K) for SI. Temperature conversions use the exact 273.15 offset. Pressure unit conversions use the standard conversion factors from NIST.
Who built it
This project was built by a team of scientists and engineers who noticed that existing gas law tools were either too simple to be useful or too complicated to be usable. The goal was a set of calculators that a high school student could use confidently and a PhD chemist would trust.
